When John Carter, Confederate war veteran, dies in a mysterious cave after fleeing from a group of Indians, he is transported to Mars. I am not usually a big sci-fi fan, but I figured I’d give A Princess of Mars a shot anyway, since it is so popular. I am not planning to, largely because everyone I have talked to hates it).
